Marina Fixing Applications

One of the main advantages of the Blind Bolt is that its ease of use makes it the perfect choice for using in difficult environments.

This might mean simply a building site at the mercy of the weather, a section of a high structure, such as a bridge, offering very limited access or a location such as a marina.

Marina Blind Fixings

The main issues thrown up by undertaking construction or repair work within a marina are two-fold; the corrosive nature of the seawater itself and the unpredictable weather more likely to be present in coastal areas. The first of these issues is dealt with by the fact that all of our Blind Bolt fasteners – whether heavy duty bolts or thin wall bolts – are manufactured from 316 grade (A4) stainless steel.

The problems thrown up by the unpredictability of a marina environment become much less acute when the simplicity and speed with which our blind fasteners can be used is taken into account. A window of good weather, for example, could be used to undertake a task such as building a pontoon or reinforcing a retaining wall, safe in the knowledge that our blind fixings can be used quickly and easily. The fact that they require no specialized equipment means that they can also be used in parts of the marina which are difficult to access, and once in place they’ll be more than able to cope with everything that the sea chooses to throw at them.
